The Bonneville County Library District announces our Fall-i-Day Reading Challenge for 2026

The library would also like to give a huge shout out to our friends groups: Friends of the Iona Library (FOIL) and Friends Assisting Bonneville Libraries (FABL.) If you would like to join or help these organizations please contact them by clicking on our "Friends Group" tabs!

As always we at the library encourage you to share the joy of reading by either reading with someone or talking to someone about every book you read. This positive reinforcement leads to the joy of reading and can impact young and old readers lives alike.

Summer Reading Program

Unearth a Story: Summer Reading 2026

Registration Begins: June 1st, 2026

All 5 BCLD Branches

All Ages. Read 20 minutes a day.

Log your reading. Earn Prizes!

Register in person at any branch.

Summer Reading Rules

Every participant must have a BCLD library card.
Prizes are awarded based on your registered age group; must bring log to obtain prizes.
You can catch up if you miss a week.
You must read 20 minutes a day for a minimum of 5 days a week. Track minutes using the reading log to be eligible for that week’s prize/ticket.
All reading must be done at your current reading level.
Prizes may be exchanged for one ticket into the drawing for all age groups excluding the Hatchlings (0-5 years old). All prizes or tickets must be claimed by August 8th. Gift Card drawings will take place on August 17th. All cards need to be claimed by August 31st. All tickets must have first and last name and last 5 digits of library card to be eligible for entry.
If you have book fines/overdue books you will not be able to collect rewards.
Some rewards are only available while supplies last.

Snowy to Sunny Reading Challenge

“Snowy to Sunny” is a spring reading challenge at the BCLD Library designed to support your spring reading goals. Like the Falliday Challenge, it features prizes and tickets.

This challenge can be completed alongside the Book Dragon Challenge.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

We are pleased to be providing the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program!

To register and claim your certificates, speak to a librarian at any of our branches each time you complete 100 books. When you complete 1,000 books you will receive a reading buddy as the grand prize!
